What collections are available at Baker Library Special Collections and Archives to support my China Trade research?
Baker Library Special Collections and Archives has extensive collections documenting American trading firms in China during the nineteenth century, known as China Trade collections. Our online exhibit, A Chronicle of the China Trade: The Records of Augustine Heard & Co., 1840-1877, focuses on our largest collection of records, the Heard family business records. The Nineteenth-Century China Trade Manuscript Collections page provides an overview of our major China Trade collections, including descriptions and links to finding aids/guides (for the larger collections).
